In an age where social media often feels like a relentless scroll of noise, two pioneers have set out to change the narrative.

Evan Sharp, co-founder of Pinterest, and Biz Stone, co-founder of Twitter, are now behind West Co., a San Francisco-based startup building digital products designed to make online social interaction more intentional.

West Co.’s debut product, Tangle, launched as an invite-only test phase in November 2025. The app, in it’s current form, prompts users each morning with a simple question: “What’s your intention for today?”

Rather than chasing likes or shares, Tangle focuses on small, intentional group conversations that invite users to share personal goals, support one another, and reflect along the way.

It brings together tools designed to encourage presence and meaning, turning away from the constant noise of mainstream platforms and instead creates space for deeper, more intentional digital moments.

Founded by the minds behind Twitter and Pinterest in 2023, West Co. has reportedly raised $29 million in funding, led by Spark Capital, an early Twitter investor.

While its mission is to create tools that help people “live life more on purpose”, Tangle’s invite-only launch is still in its infancy, meaning its impact remains to be seen.

The ambition, however, is clear: to move beyond the endless scroll, quantity, and distraction, and build a space where users can cultivate presence, set intentions, and share meaningful moments in a way that feels human again.

As founders and operators watch how the social media landscape evolves, West Co.’s journey will be one to follow closely – a reminder that the tools we create can either fragment or heal the human experience online.
