OpenAI has also launched Sora, an invite-only iOS app in the U.S. and Canada. It lets users craft hyper-realistic AI personas of themselves, able to appear anywhere, anytime.
Forget what you’ve seen.
For the first time, friends can collaborate by granting each other access to their avatars, appearing together in a shared scene. AI becomes the camera crew, and consent is built in.
Of course, guardrails matter. OpenAI blocks use of public figures and explicit content, aiming to keep the playground safe while norms take shape.
If Sora sticks, the shift will be seismic. Video becomes writable, collaborative, and fast.
